Copper statue of Amitayus
Copper statue of Amitayus.
The term "consecrate" comes from the Latin consecrāre: con- (wholly or totally) and sacrare (to make sacred, to dedicate to the sacred). It is a ritual through which an object becomes a spiritual medium, attributing value to the practice, and a special moment in which the statue is given "life" by filling it with small scrolled mantras, substances, and symbols.
Once purchased, the statues will be consecrated with care and attention by the center's master, Lama Ngawang Norbu. This gives them added value, as it is rare to purchase a statue and have it consecrated later. For this reason, delivery may take an additional 2 to 3 weeks.
