The Koos Story

Koos Oeberius Kapteijn was born in the north of Holland in 1926, dedicating his life to a relentless search for meaning. He began as a general practitioner and later as a psychosynthesis therapist, exploring the inner territories of the human being, moving back and forth on a journey of self-discovery.

An encounter with Tibetan Buddhism and his teacher Pema Wangyal Rinpoche marked a turning point. Buddhist teachings offered him a map for navigating the complexity of human existence, and his death was extraordinary: he remained in a state of meditation for three days, suggesting that he had reached a level of realisation that transcended the ordinary.

Koos was not just a doctor or a therapist, but a seeker who turned his life into a journey of spiritual transformation.
