Loca sabiduría

De acuerdo con el budismo, todo ser humano tiene la capacidad de despertar, de adquirir la naturaleza búdica y liberarse. Este despertar puede venir tras algún acontecimiento fortuito, algún sufrimiento, algún suceso que haga que uno se cuestione profundamente a sí mismo: ¿quién soy? ¿por qué ocurre lo que ocurre? ¿quién pregunta «quién soy»? Dentro de este proceso de interrogaciones, y ya de cara a la práctica, existen dos maneras de enfrentarse con uno mismo: la primera consiste en intentar vivir de acuerdo con lo que nos gustaría ser; la segunda, en tratar de ser lo que realmente somos.

En el presente libro se nos explica la falacia de la primera actitud, una falacia que en la tradición budista se conoce como spiritual materialism, una falacia que encontramos en todas las religiones, con sus técnicas para asociarnos con lo bueno, lo mejor, o incluso con el Bien Supremo. Porque ya se ve que lo que nos lleva a ello es precisamente nuestra búsqueda interesada de placer espiritual.

El camino de la superación del materialismo espiritual, en cambio, hace que uno vaya explorando cada vez más lejos sin detenerse en ninguna respuesta. Se trata, precisamente, de alcanzar un punto donde ya no hay respuesta. Tampoco preguntas. Donde ya no cabe esperanza ni desesperanza. Este punto es el meollo de la loca sabiduría.

Estamos acostumbrados a fingir ser lo que no somos; pero en Loca sabiduría se nos conduce más allá de la farsa, hacia un lugar sin referencia, dejando de lado las balizas del bien y del mal.
