Not to be happy

A refreshing and thought-provoking look at the Buddhist path that challenges our expectations of spirituality. The author shows us why the pursuit of happiness can be our greatest obstacle.

If you seek meditation just to feel good, Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse is straightforward: better get a massage. In Not for Happiness, the author challenges the common idea that spiritual practice should bring comfort and tranquillity. Genuine dharma practice, especially ngöndro preliminaries, is not designed for the superficial comfort that many seek. However, if true enlightenment is your goal, this guide offers the essential tools to begin the authentic path, even if it is not always comfortable.
