Fearless compassion

Fearless Compassion is a masterful guide to cultivating authentic compassion, in which Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche explains The Seven Points of Mind Training, a teaching transmitted to Tibet by Master Atisha. During his latest visit to the West, Rinpoche shares the essence of Tibetan Buddhism, revealing how to transform every moment of daily life into an opportunity to develop a compassion that transcends mere sentimentality and connects us with the deeper nature of the mind. This commentary, considered by many to be his final legacy, condenses with clarity and direct experience the compassionate path to enlightenment.

Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910-1991) was one of the great Buddhist masters of the 20th century, recognised as a leading lama of the Nyingma tradition and a master of the Rimé lineage, a non-sectarian movement integrating various schools of Tibetan Buddhism. From a young age, he devoted himself entirely to study and practice, spending years in retreat in the mountains.

He was a prolific writer and teacher of great spiritual figures, including the 14th Dalai Lama and Mingyur Rinpoche. Known for his immense wisdom and compassion, he transmitted profound teachings on the nature of mind, bodhichitta and Dzogchen.

After Tibetan exile, he helped preserve the Buddhist tradition in India and Nepal, founding monasteries and overseeing the publication of numerous sacred texts. His legacy lives on through his disciples, inspiring practitioners around the world with his example of devotion, humility and boundless love.
